Hadith Takhrij« تفرد بہ ابن ماجہ ، ( تحفة الأشراف : 17428 ) ، وقد أخرجہ : مسند احمد ( 6/80 ) ( صحیح ) »
Brief Explanation
1؎: That is, if one cannot walk, then come to the congregation crawling on hands and buttocks. From this hadith, the great virtue of the ‘Isha and Fajr prayers is established, and the reason for this is that the time of these two prayers coincides with the time of sleep and laziness, and it is very difficult for the self (nafs) to leave comfort and be present for prayer. And the act of worship that is more difficult for the self carries greater reward.
Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Commentary: (1) By “something,” what is meant is the immense reward and blessings of these prayers.
(2) These blessings and mercies can only be attained if these prayers are performed in congregation.
(3) (Habwan) The meaning is: to walk with the support of the hands, or to crawl dragging oneself on the knees or buttocks. The meaning is that if people truly realized the importance of these prayers, they would never be absent from them, no matter how much hardship and difficulty they had to endure to reach the mosque.
