Hadith Grading
Brief Explanation
1؎: That is, he will not receive the full reward for the deeds of that day, because the ‘Asr prayer itself was a major deed among those actions, and he has ruined it; or, all the deeds of that day will become void and useless, and he will receive absolutely no reward; or, “deed” refers to the particular action in which he was engaged, and due to which he missed the prayer—meaning, there will be no blessing or benefit in that action, rather misfortune will arise from it. From this hadith, it is also understood that on cloudy days, one should hasten to perform the prayer, lest the time passes without one realizing it. Some have said that on cloudy days, one should hasten in performing the ‘Asr and ‘Isha prayers. And Allah knows best.
