´It was narrated that `A'ishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah would fall asleep until he was breathing deeply, then he would get up and offer the prayer, and he did not perform ablution." (Hasan) Tanafisi said: "Waki` said: 'She meant while he was prostrating (he would sleep).'"

Apparently, this hadith indicates that ablution (wudu) is not nullified by sleep, whereas in the following hadith (477), it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed the one who sleeps to perform ablution again. Therefore, there are differing opinions among the scholars regarding this issue.
The more correct view seems to be that sleeping while sitting does not nullify ablution, but sleeping while lying down does nullify it.
Sleeping while reclining is also considered the same as sleeping while lying down.
In this hadith of Aisha (radi Allahu anha), it is not explicitly stated whether the sleep after which the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not perform ablution was while sitting or lying down.
If sleeping while sitting is intended, then there is no problem.
If it was while lying down, it can be said that this is a special characteristic (khasiyyah) of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), because his senses remained alert even during sleep.
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
(TANĀMU ‘AYNĪ WALĀ YANĀMU QALBĪ)
“My eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Manaqib, Chapter: The Prophet’s eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep, Hadith: 3569)
Imam Nawawi (rahimahullah) has also established a chapter with this title in his commentary on Sahih Muslim: (Chapter: The evidence that sleeping while sitting does not nullify ablution)
This is evidence that sleeping while sitting does not nullify ablution, but this view is not much different from the previous one, because sleeping in the posture of prayer is not allowed, and ablution is nullified by sleeping while lying down. And Allah knows best.
