حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَوَضَّأَ فِي تَوْرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Prophet performed ablution using (the water in) a vessel made of brass.
Brief Explanation
1؎: «تور»: A "tasht" is a vessel similar to a basin, and «مخضب»: is a vessel in which clothes are washed; it is also like a basin. From these hadiths, it is established that keeping and using brass vessels in the house is permissible without any dislike (karahah), and the notion among the common people that it is disliked is contrary to the hadith.
