1؎: There is no authentic hadith prohibiting the act of wiping the hands and face after ablution (wudu), therefore it is permissible, though not obligatory. In fact, in Zad al-Ma'ad, Ibn al-Qayyim has stated that a hadith from Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha radi Allahu anha has been narrated in this regard, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had a cloth with which he used to wipe his limbs after ablution.
