بَابُ : صِفَةِ النَّارِChapter: Description of Hell
Hadith 4326

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلَّا أَثَرَ السُّجُودِ , حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّارِ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ أَثَرَ السُّجُودِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “The Fire will consume all of the son of Adam except the mark of prostration. Allah has forbidden the Fire to consume the mark of prostration.’”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ A sinful believer who enters Hell will, after serving his punishment and being burned to coal, nevertheless be brought back to life and will enter Paradise. (Hadith: 4309) The hadith under study mentions such a believer, who will be recognized and taken out of Hell due to the mark of prostration (sajdah).
➌ The one who does not pray will not have the mark of prostration on his face. Therefore, the angels will not remove him from Hell. However, other sinners will be taken out of Hell by the angels by Allah’s command.
