´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “This nation has been granted mercy (in the Hereafter) and its torment (in this world) is at the hands of one another. When the Day of Resurrection comes, each Muslim man will be given a man from among the idolaters and it will be said: ‘This is your ransom from the Fire.’”
Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
➊
The mentioned narration has been declared weak in its chain of transmission by our esteemed researcher.
He has further written that the narration of Sunan Abi Dawud (4278) suffices in its place.
Moreover, other researchers have declared the mentioned narration authentic due to supporting and corroborating reports.
Therefore, despite the mentioned narration being weak in its chain, it is acceptable as evidence due to other supporting reports.
And Allah knows best.

➋
For every person, a house has been prepared in Paradise as well.
And on the Day of Resurrection, the disbelievers will be given a place in Hell.
So the houses in Paradise that they left behind will be given to the people of Paradise.
And the houses in Hell that remain vacant from the believers,
those will go to the share of the disbelievers, and the believers will enter Paradise.
This is the meaning of being a ransom (fidya).
➌
By the "Ummah Marhumah" (the Ummah upon whom is mercy)
is meant that there are many special mercies of Allah Ta'ala upon this Ummah,
which the previous nations did not receive. But among these mercies, only that person will benefit who acts upon the Shari'ah and fears the punishment of Allah.
