´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “We are the last of the nations, and the first to be brought to account. It will be said: ‘Where is the unlettered nation and its Prophet?’ So we are the last and the first.”

Benefits and Issues:

This ummah is the last ummah.
From this, it is understood that the chain of prophethood has ended with our Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
Anyone who claims prophethood after the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is a liar.

The descent of ‘Isa (alayhis salam) from the heavens near the Day of Judgment is not contrary to the doctrine of the finality of prophethood, because ‘Isa (alayhis salam) is a previous prophet who was born approximately six centuries before our Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

The reckoning of our ummah will take place before others; therefore, we should strive more to do good deeds and avoid evil deeds, not befriend the disbelievers, and not adopt their customs and traditions.
