´It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: ‘O My slaves, all of you are sinners except those whom I have saved. So ask Me for forgiveness, I will forgive you. Whoever among you knows that I have the power to forgive and asks Me to forgive by My power, I will forgive him. All of you are astray except those whom I guide. Ask Me for guidance and I will guide you. All of you are poor except those whom I enrich (make independent of means). Ask of Me and I will grant you provision. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were all as pious as the most pious among My slaves, that would not increase my dominion as much as a gnat’s wing, and if they were to be as evil as the most evil among My slaves, that would not detract from My dominion as much as a gnat’s wing. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were to join together and each of them were to ask for all that he wishes for, that would only detract from My dominion as much as if one of you were to pass by the edge of the sea and dip a needle in it and withdraw it. That is because I am the Most Generous, Majestic. I give with a word; when I will something, all I do is say to it “Be!” – and it is.’”

Benefits and Issues:
➊
In Sahih Muslim, the wording of this hadith is as follows:
“Allah, the Exalted, says: O My servants! I have made oppression unlawful for Myself and have made it unlawful among you as well. Therefore, do not oppress one another.
O My servants! All of you are astray except for those whom I guide. So seek guidance from Me, and I will guide you.
O My servants! All of you are hungry except for those whom I feed. So ask Me for food, and I will feed you.
O My servants! All of you are naked except for those whom I clothe. So ask Me for clothing, and I will clothe you.
O My servants! You commit mistakes by night and by day, and I forgive all sins. So seek forgiveness from Me, and I will forgive you.
O My servants! You are not able to harm Me, nor are you able to benefit Me.
O My servants! If the first of you and the last of you, the humans among you and the jinn among you, were all to have the heart of the most righteous individual among you, that would not increase My dominion in the least.
O My servants! If the first of you and the last of you, the humans among you and the jinn among you, were all to have the heart of the most wicked individual among you, that would not decrease My dominion in the least.
O My servants! If the first of you and the last of you, the humans among you and the jinn among you, were all to stand together in one place and ask of Me, and I were to give each person what he requested, that would not diminish what I possess any more than a needle diminishes the sea when it is dipped into it.
O My servants! These are your deeds which I enumerate for you (and preserve for you), then I will recompense you fully for them (I will give you their full reward). So whoever finds good, let him praise Allah, and whoever finds otherwise, let him blame no one but himself.” (Sahih Muslim, al-Birr wa al-Silah, al-Adab, Chapter: The Prohibition of Oppression, Hadith: 2577)
➋
A servant should maintain both hope in and fear of Allah.
➌
It is Allah alone Who fulfills every need. Therefore, one should ask from Him, Whose treasures are limitless.
➍
Becoming righteous benefits the person himself, and becoming wicked harms only himself. We cannot improve or harm Allah in any way.
➎
The awareness of Allah’s greatness and one’s own insignificance plays an important role in keeping a person steadfast on the straight path.

Explanation:
Note:
(In this context, this hadith is weak; in the chain of narration, both Layth ibn Abi Sulaym and Shahr ibn Hawshab are weak narrators. However, most parts of it are present in Sahih Muslim.)
