Hadith 4213

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى 61 بَنِي عَامِرٍ 61 , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " حَسْبُ امْرِئٍ مِنَ الشَّرِّ أَنْ يَحْقِرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “It is sufficient evil for a man to look down on his Muslim brother.”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ To humiliate a Muslim or to mistreat him by considering him insignificant and inferior is a very grave crime.
➋ The meaning of the hadith is that if a person has only this one flaw and no other, then this flaw alone is sufficient to declare him a bad person.
