Hadith 412

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ ، " تَوَضَّأَ وَاحِدَةً وَاحِدَةً " .
´It was narrated that 'Umar said:` "I saw the Messenger of Allah during the campaign of Tabuk performing ablution, washing each part once."

Commentary:
Our esteemed researcher has declared this narration weak in terms of its chain of transmission.
Whereas Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has graded it as hasan, and the researchers of al-Mawsu‘ah al-Hadithiyyah have graded it as sahih li ghayrihi. They have also stated that regarding this issue, it is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari from Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once performed ablution (wudu) and washed each limb only once.
