´‘Abdullah said:` “I heard your Prophet (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever focuses all his concerns on one thing, the Hereafter, Allah will relieve him of worldly concerns, but whoever has disparate concerns scattered among a number of worldly issues, Allah will not care in which of its valleys he died.’”
Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
What is meant by being made free from the worries of the world is that his lawful needs are fulfilled with ease, and the person who, due to greed and desire, becomes entangled in various worries—his worries do not end; rather, he himself, entangled in them, is presented before Allah.

Commentary:
(1)
From this hadith, it is understood that a person should also keep in view the benefit and loss of the Hereafter in worldly matters. A believer endures worldly loss for the benefit of the Hereafter; therefore, he does not grieve or feel regret over this sacrifice, rather he feels happiness. In this way, he is, as it were, protected from the anxieties of the world.
(2)
The bad consequence of forgetting the Hereafter is also experienced in this world, and that is that a person is always afflicted with worry and grief. He becomes deeply saddened over whatever is taken away from him, whereas when a believer faces any calamity, he exercises patience because he hopes for a better reward in the Hereafter.
(3)
Some scholars have declared this narration to be hasan (good).

Hadith Authentication:
Its chain of narration is extremely weak and rejected, and this narration is weak.
There are two reasons for its weakness:
➊ Nahshal bin Sa‘id is a severely criticized and discredited narrator.
◄ Regarding him, Imam Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi and Imam Ishaq bin Rahwayh both said: «كذاب» [كتاب الجرح والتعديل 8؍496 وسنده صحيح]
◄ Al-Hakim al-Naysaburi said:
«روي عن الضحاك بن مزاحم الموضوعات . . .»
“He narrated fabricated (mawdu‘) reports from al-Dahhak bin Muzahim.” [المدخل الي الصحيح ص218 ت209]
This narration is also from al-Dahhak, therefore it is fabricated.
➋ Mu‘awiyah bin Salamah al-Nasri is of unknown status (majhul al-hal), and in some unreliable narrations, his reliability is also reported. In [اخلاق العلماء للآجري ص92], this same narration is present with the chain of «شعيب بن ايوب : أخبرنا عبدالله بن نمير : أخبرنا معاوية النصري . إلخ», thus it is established that Nahshal is not alone in narrating this report; all the supporting narrations for this report are weak.
Note:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
«من كانت الدنيا همه فرق الله عليه أمره وجعل فقره بين عينيه ولم يأته من الدنيا إلا ما كتب له، ومن كانت الآخرة نيته جمع الله له أمره وجعل غناه فى قلبه وأتته الدنيا وهى راغمة .»
“Whoever’s concern is (only) the world, Allah scatters his affairs and places poverty before his eyes, and he will receive from the world only what is decreed for him. And whoever’s concern is the Hereafter, Allah gathers his affairs and places contentment in his heart, and the world comes to him humbled.” [سنن ابن ماجه : 4105 وسنده صحيح وحسنه الترمذي : 2656 وصححه ابن حبان : 72 والبوصيري فى زوائد ابن ماجه]
↰ This authentic hadith renders the previous narration unnecessary.
Benefit:
Before “ahwal al-dunya” (the conditions of the world), the word «في» has dropped from the manuscripts of Mishkat, therefore it has been added from the original Sunan Ibn Majah.
