Benefits and Issues:
➊
A person who seeks and is greedy for worldly wealth, status, and grandeur works very hard for the world.
No matter how much wealth he acquires, due to his greed for more, he is not satisfied, and thus, like a poor person, he remains distressed.
➋
A greedy person starts many ventures to earn worldly gains and wants to give full attention to each one, desiring to see the results of his efforts as quickly as possible. However, by nature, a human being cannot give equal attention to many matters at the same time; therefore, he does not achieve results according to his greed.
In this way, even after acquiring wealth, he remains troubled.
➌
By turning one’s attention to the Hereafter, the importance of the world diminishes; thus, the wealth of contentment is attained, and the servant lives a satisfied and pleasant life.
➍
By making the Hereafter one’s objective, order and discipline are also established in worldly affairs, which leads to better results in business and brings blessing in sustenance.
➎
For the one who keeps Allah’s pleasure in view, his worldly matters also become resolved, greed is eliminated, and self-sufficiency is produced.
➏
The sustenance that Allah the Exalted has decreed for a person is also obtained through lawful (halal) means; therefore, by adopting unlawful methods, nothing is gained except troubles.
