´It was narrated that Hudhaifah bin Asid said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) looked out at us from a room, when we were talking about the Hour. He said: 'The Hour will not begin until there are ten signs: Dajjal, (False Christ), the smoke, and the rising of the sun from the west.'"

Hadith Commentary:
Vocabulary of the Hadith:
(1)
Al-Dukhan:
That smoke which will cause a cold (catarrh) for the believers and will be a cause of destruction for the disbelievers.
(2)
Dabbah:
That creature which will emerge from the earth and will speak to the people.
In the Noble Qur’an: (We shall bring forth for them a creature from the earth who will speak to them) (: Al-Naml, verse 28)
We will bring forth for them from the earth a creature who will converse with them.
Benefits and Issues:
In this hadith, the mention of the signs is not according to their chronological order of occurrence.
That is why the rising of the sun from the west is mentioned before the descent of ‘Isa (alayhis salam) and the emergence of Gog and Magog (Ya’juj and Ma’juj),
even though this rising is a sign of the actual occurrence of the Hour (Qiyamah).

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: Busra is a well-known city of Sham (Greater Syria). On the third of Jumada al-Akhirah (654 AH), on a Tuesday, after the morning prayer, a very great fire appeared in Madinah Munawwarah, whose light illuminated the necks of the camels in Busra. (For details, see: Al-Bidayah wa’l-Nihayah, vol. 13, p. 187. See also Takmilah, vol. 2, pp. 310–312; Muntaha al-Minhaj, vol. 4, p. 356.)

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The ahadith regarding Dabbat al-Ard are coming in Chapter 31; the ahadith about the sun rising from the west are in Chapter 32; and the ahadith concerning the appearance of the Dajjal, the descent of ‘Isa ibn Maryam (alayhis salam), and Gog and Magog (Ya’juj wa Ma’juj) are in Chapter 33.
➋ The rising of the sun from the west is a sign that the system of the world is coming to an end. Now the stages of the Day of Resurrection (Qiyamah) are beginning, which are related to the Hereafter, and therefore repentance (tawbah) at that time will not be accepted, just as repentance is not accepted when the angels become visible at the time of death.
➌ The tribulation (fitnah) of the Dajjal is a very great tribulation. He will be the leader of the Jews and will be a cause of misguidance for the Muslims.
➍ The Jews denied the true Messiah (‘Isa ibn Maryam alayhis salam) because he did not promise the dominance of the Jews in the world. During the days of the Dajjal, the Jews will temporarily attain progress and dominance.
➎ Some sects who call themselves Muslims are also awaiting the appearance of the Hidden Imam. It is possible that, upon witnessing the tricks of the Dajjal, they too may accept him as their Imam.

Benefit:
The signs of the Day of Judgment are numerous; in this hadith, the major signs are mentioned. Our belief is that these signs are true. Many books have been written regarding these signs. One such book is "When the World Will Be Shattered to Pieces." The details of each and every sign can be found in this book.
