´It was narrated from Usamah bin Zaid that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “I am not leaving behind me any tribulation that is more harmful to men than women.”

Benefits and Issues:

The relationship between man and woman is a natural relationship, but the Shariah has established certain principles and rules for it.
A man, overcome by emotions, breaks these rules; therefore, this matter is a trial for men.

In order to succeed in this trial, it is necessary that the relationship with a woman be established through a lawful, Shariah-approved method (through nikah [marriage]).

Sometimes, in order to please his wife, a man becomes negligent in fulfilling the rights of his parents, or he spoils relations with relatives, or in order to fulfill his wife's demands, he acquires wealth through unlawful means.
A believer should exercise caution in these matters so that, in trying to please his wife, he does not end up displeasing Allah Ta'ala.

For a woman, a man is also a trial in the same way.
To disobey Allah in order to please her husband is failure in this trial.

Hadith Commentary:
Sometimes, entire nations are destroyed due to the tribulation (fitnah) caused by women.
Conflicts regarding wealth, land, and women—that is, disputes concerning wives—have always occurred throughout human history.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah, by narrating this hadith regarding misfortune (nahusat), has clarified the nature of misfortune: that what is meant here is not the misfortune of the Age of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah)—for example, if a woman comes in front of someone while he is going for some work, and he considers it a bad omen and turns back from his task. Rather, what is meant is her foul speech and causing harm, as in the mentioned hadith, the trial (fitnah) of women is described as more dangerous compared to other things. Thus, the statement of Allah, the Exalted, is:

“Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire—of women and sons...” ( Aal Imran: 14)

In this noble verse, women are mentioned at the forefront.
This indicates that the essence of desire (shahwah) is women, and their trial (fitnah) is very severe, because they incite men towards severing ties of kinship and disobedience to Allah, the Exalted.
In a hadith it is stated:

“Beware of women, for the first trial (fitnah) among the Children of Israel was caused by women.”
(Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Riqaq, Hadith: 6948 (2742), and Fath al-Bari: 9/173) (2)
It is said that gold, land, and women are the foundation of trials (fitan).
Sometimes, due to the trial of women, entire nations are destroyed.
Throughout human history, corruption regarding women has always occurred.
The Noble Qur’an, while prominently mentioning the trial of the wife of the Aziz of Egypt and the women of Egypt, states:

“Indeed, your plot is great.”

Benefit:
In this hadith, the trial (fitnah) of women has been declared very severe. If one reflects on the various ways in which women mislead men, the following important forms become apparent:
① Due to their beauty
② Due to their soft and delicate speech
③ Due to improper gestures with hands and eyes
④ Due to greed and covetousness
⑤ Due to fornication (zina), etc.

The meaning of this hadith is not that every woman is a trial (fitnah); rather, certain women are intended. Nor does it mean that only women are a trial and not men; indeed, many men are also a trial. In the present era, the trial of women has taken on a very dangerous form; in all fields, women have been put forward, even though women have been commanded to remain in their homes. ( )

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "A woman is an object of concealment (awrah); when she goes out of her house, Satan raises his neck to look at her. She is never closer to Allah than when she remains in her house." [الـمـعـجـم الاوسط للطبراني : حديث : 2890 سـلـسـلة الاحـاديـث الـصحيحة للألباني : 187/6 حديث : 2688]

A woman, out of necessity, may go outside in a simple state, observing proper covering (hijab), and lowering her gaze. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Permission has been granted to you (women) to go out for your needs." [صحيح البخاري كتاب التفسير باب قوله لا تدخلوا بيوت النبى : 4795]
