1؎: Lest an unjust statement slips from the tongue and one becomes sinful without cause, or is considered a participant in the tribulation, or his words serve to further inflame the tribulation.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Prophet ﷺ said: There will be civil strife which wipe out the Arabs, and their slain will go to Hell. During it the tongue will be more severe than blows of the sword. Abu Dawud said: Al-Thawri transmitted it from Laith, from Tawus on the authority of Al-A'jam.

Benefits and Issues: This narration is weak in its chain of transmission. However, in such circumstances, to speak with the tongue... ... ... Fitnah (tribulation) will only arise when someone supports or opposes another unjustly. Enjoining good and forbidding evil (amr bil-ma'ruf wa nahi 'anil-munkar) is never prohibited in any era.
