Hadith 3931

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ , حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ : " أَلَا إِنَّ أَحْرَمَ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُكُمْ هَذَا , أَلَا وَإِنَّ أَحْرَمَ الشُّهُورِ شَهْرُكُمْ هَذَا , أَلَا وَإِنَّ أَحْرَمَ الْبَلَدِ بَلَدُكُمْ هَذَا , أَلَا وَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ , كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا , فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا , أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ " , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, during the Farewell Pilgrimage: ‘Is not the most sacred of your days this day, is not the most sacred of your months this month, is not the most sacred of your lands this land? Your blood and your wealth are as sacred to you as this day of yours in this month of yours. Have I not conveyed (the message)?’ They said: ‘Yes.” He said: ‘O Allah, bear witness.’”

➊ The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made this statement on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah in Arafat, and also on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah in Mina while standing near the Jamarat. See: (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3057, 3058)
➋ The city referred to here is Makkah al-Mukarramah, which is the most honored city.
➌ The meaning of the sanctity of a Muslim’s life and wealth is that to kill him, injure him, seize his wealth, or take his wealth deceitfully are all grave crimes.
