Brief Explanation
1؎: Because the thread that is between these two grains cannot be tied, he will be punished for this. Although lying while awake is also a sin, lying in a dream is an even graver sin, because dreams are among the glad tidings of prophethood. Therefore, to lie in them is as if to fabricate a lie against Allah Ta'ala.

Benefits and Issues:

A person who has not seen a dream but fabricates one and narrates it from himself, his lie is a very great sin.

Narrating a false dream is even worse because there is no way to verify whether he actually saw the dream or not.

Some individuals claim to have seen the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam or some other important personality in their dream. Ordinary people, considering this a sign of their spiritual status, begin to express love and respect for them, whereas true honor lies in performing righteous deeds. Otherwise, disbelievers and hypocrites also saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in reality, but even then they were not considered worthy of any respect.

A dream is not proof of the permissibility or impermissibility of any action. For legal (shar‘i) matters, legal evidences are necessary. Someone’s claim that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave him permission for a certain act is not acceptable.
