بَابُ : الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةِ يَرَاهَا الْمُسْلِمُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُChapter: A Good Dream That Is Seen By The Muslim, Or Is Seen About Him
Hadith 3898

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ : لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ سورة يونس آية 64 , قَالَ : " هِيَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ يَرَاهَا الْمُسْلِمُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Ubadah bin Samit said:` “I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) the about the Saying of Allah, Glorious is He: ‘For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present world, and in the Hereafter.”[10:64] He said: ‘Those are good dreams that a Muslim sees or are seen about him.’”

Benefits and Issues:

A good dream can be about oneself or about another Muslim; in both cases, it is glad tidings.
For example, a person sees that he is performing tawaf (circumambulation) of the Ka'bah—this is a dream about himself.
Or he sees that his father is performing tawaf—then this is glad tidings regarding his father.

In the Hereafter, the believer will receive glad tidings of entry into Paradise.
This glad tiding is also given at the time the soul is taken.
And it is also given after the questioning in the grave.
Receiving the record of deeds in the right hand will also be glad tidings.
When the deeds are weighed, the heaviness of the scale of good deeds will also be glad tidings.

To see a deceased person in a good state is also glad tidings.
