Benefits and Issues:
➊ The mentioned narration has been declared weak in its chain of transmission by our esteemed researcher. However, Shaykh al-Albani has graded it as hasan. He has discussed this matter in detail and mentioned its supporting evidences. From this, the opinion of Shaykh al-Albani appears to be closer to correctness. Therefore, despite the narration being weak in its chain, due to other supporting evidences and corroborations, it is actionable and a valid proof. For further details, see: (Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah by al-Albani, no. 602, 2737)
➋ By seeing someone afflicted with a calamity, one realizes the value of one’s own well-being. Therefore, one should express gratitude to Allah for this favor.
➌ Upon seeing someone afflicted with a calamity, this supplication should be recited quietly, so that he does not hear it, otherwise he may feel hurt.
