Benefits and Issues:

One should memorize the prescribed (masnun) supplications and recite them in prayers.
These supplications can also be recited while making supplication (du'a) outside of prayer.

In every kind of difficulty and calamity, one should supplicate to Allah.
In this supplication, help against enemies is also sought, as well as deliverance from one's moral shortcomings and a request for virtues and their attainment; therefore, this is a comprehensive supplication.

The meaning of a straight tongue is to be granted such success (tawfiq) that nothing sinful or misleading comes from the tongue.

Maintaining proof can mean being granted success to present correct, firm, and clear arguments during the propagation of truth, and it can also mean being granted success to give such an answer at the time of reckoning in the grave or on the Day of Resurrection that Allah, being pleased, forgives the sins and admits one to Paradise.

Explanation:
1:
O my Lord! Help me,
do not help anyone against me,
O Allah! Support and grant me victory, and do not support or grant victory to anyone against me,
and plan for me, and do not plan for anyone against me,
and O Allah! Guide me and make guidance easy for me,
and O Allah! Help me against the one who rebels and transgresses against me,
O my Lord, make me one who is very grateful to You,
one who remembers and mentions You much,
one who greatly fears You,
one who greatly obeys You,
and one who is humble and submissive before You,
and one who expresses pain and sorrow to You and turns to You in repentance.
O my Lord! Accept my repentance and wash away my sins,
and accept my supplication,
and make my argument (my proof) firm and solid,
and make my tongue one that speaks rightly,
guide my heart,
and remove malice, rancor, and envy from my chest.
