Hadith 379

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْأَسَدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ يَغْتَسِلُونَ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:` "The Messenger of Allah and his wives used to take a bath from a single vessel."

Maulana Ataullah Sajid
The meaning is that the Mother of the Believers (Umm al-Mu’minin) in whose house the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would perform ritual bath (ghusl), she would also perform ritual bath (ghusl) with him from the same vessel.
This does not mean that more than one of the purified wives (azwaj mutahharat, radi Allahu anhunna) would perform ritual bath together at the same time, because a woman must conceal from another woman those parts of the body which it is not necessary to conceal from her husband.
