Hadith 3746

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ , عَنْ شَرِيكٍ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "One who is consulted is entrusted."

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Just as it is not permissible to betray a trust, in the same way, it is not permissible to give someone incorrect advice.

➋ The one seeking advice places his trust in his Muslim brother and presents his circumstances before him; therefore, it is not permissible that his confidential matters be disclosed to others. These matters are a trust.
