بَابُ : إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُChapter: If a man who is repspected comes to you, then honor him
Hadith 3712

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ , أَنْبَأَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ , فَأَكْرِمُوهُ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "If there comes to you a man who is respected among his own people, then honor him."

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The honoring of a guest should be according to his status and rank.
➋ It is necessary to meet even a non-Muslim guest with cheerfulness and to extend appropriate hospitality to him, but nothing should be done that would diminish the honor and dignity of Islam and the Muslims.
