´It was narrated from Abdullah bin 'Amr that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Worship the Most Merciful and spread (the greeting of) peace.'"

Commentary:
(1)
Islam is the name of establishing a correct relationship with Allah and with His servants.
The foundation of a correct relationship with Allah is the creed of monotheism (tawhid) and its expression through acts of worship (ibadat).
To establish and maintain a correct relationship with people, an easy act is to greet everyone with salam (peace).
(2)
To make salam widespread means that every Muslim should be greeted with salam.
And whenever there is a meeting, or upon parting after a meeting, salam should be given.
In this, no distinction should be made between friends, relatives, or strangers.
(3)
One should not initiate salam to a non-Muslim, but if they offer salam, then it should be replied to, as will be mentioned in Chapter 13.
(4)
Salam should be said in a voice loud enough that at least the person being greeted can hear it.

1:
That is, when you continue to perform all these actions with sincerity until death overtakes you in this state, then you will enter Paradise in peace and security; no fear or grief will afflict you.

In this hadith, among the matters that have been declared as causes for entering Paradise, three are related to mutual love and affection among people, and one is related to the worship of Allah. This indicates that whoever rectifies his relationship with Allah and with the servants of Allah will enter Paradise. Whoever adheres to these virtuous deeds, the path to attaining Paradise will become easy for him; he will set out upon the highway of righteousness and will avoid evil deeds.
