Hadith 3688

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْأُبُلِّيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَفِيقٌ يُحِبُّ الرِّفْقَ , وَيُعْطِي عَلَيْهِ مَا لَا يُعْطِي عَلَى الْعُنْفِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Allah is Gentle and loves gentleness, and He grants reward for it that He does not grant for harshness."

Benefits and Issues:

➊ Gentleness in mutual dealings is greatly beloved to Allah; therefore, He grants worldly benefits and reward in the Hereafter for it.

➋ Gentleness and compromise in matters of religion and in the enforcement of legal punishments (hudud) is a sign of weakness of faith. In such situations, remaining firm upon the religion is a cause for elevation of ranks.
