Brief Explanation
1؎: Consuming and misappropriating the wealth of both widows and orphans is a grave sin. Although consuming anyone’s wealth unlawfully is forbidden and sinful, unlawfully consuming the wealth of these two is an especially severe sin, because both are weak and vulnerable, lacking the ability to earn a livelihood. Therefore, they should be given more, not have their own wealth taken from them. Very wretched indeed are those who unjustly consume the wealth of orphans and widows.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ An orphan is dependent on his guardian for his needs. He cannot make demands of him in the same way that a child insists or affectionately persuades his father to fulfill his wishes. Therefore, it is necessary that the orphan’s needs be fulfilled without him having to ask.
➋ A woman is, morally, legally, and according to Shariah, under the authority of her husband. If the husband does not fully fulfill her rights, yet she is compelled to remain in that home due to her love for her children or her love for her husband, then the husband should not attempt to take undue advantage of her vulnerability. Rather, he should fulfill her rights in a better manner.
