Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
➊ Expressing love and affection towards one’s children becomes a cause for love of elders to develop in their hearts.
➋ When there is an opportunity to spend in the way of Allah, a person sometimes thinks that this money should be saved, as it will benefit the children. It is difficult to control this sentiment; however, one should strive to keep this love for children within limits so that one does not become miserly.
➌ When there is an opportunity for jihad in the way of Allah, the thought arises: “If I am martyred, what will become of my children?” In this way, cowardice develops in the heart.
➍ The emotions of love for one’s children should be kept subordinate to the commands of the Shari‘ah.
