Benefits and Issues:

There are many instructions in the Noble Qur’an and authentic hadiths regarding good conduct with parents, relatives, neighbors, and friends, as is also affirmed by the meaning of the next hadith.

“Mawla” has multiple meanings, such as: master, freed slave, slave, friend, relative, paternal cousin, ally, helper, etc. Therefore, we have translated it as “one with whom there is a connection,” which encompasses all those who have such relationships.

The meaning of “yalīhi” is to meet and to be near. The relationship between master and slave is also a deep connection, which, even after emancipation, continues in another form. A blood relationship is also an unbreakable bond. Neighbor, friend, classmate, colleague, salaried worker, employee, and his employer—all these are people with whom there is constant contact; therefore, they should help one another and avoid causing harm to each other.
