1؎: That is, among sewn garments. And as for the type of cloth, in another narration it is mentioned that the most beloved to him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was «حبرہ», meaning striped cloth in which there are red stripes. In that era, this cloth was considered the finest among all cotton garments.

Benefits and Issues: Perhaps the reason for this is that a sheet (chadar) has to be managed, whereas after wearing a shirt (qamees), the hands can be used more easily. And the shirt (qamees) of the Arabs reaches down to the bottom, so if it is made of thick cloth, then even without an izar (lower garment), the private parts remain covered. And Allah knows best.
