´It was narrated that ‘Uthman bin Abul-‘As said:` “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) appointed me as governor of Ta’if, I began to get confused during my prayer, until I no longer knew what I was doing. When I noticed that, I travelled to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he said: ‘The son of Abul-‘As?’ I said: ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said: ‘What brings you here?’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I get confused during my prayer, until I do not know what I am doing.’ He said: ‘That is Satan. Come here.’ So I came close to him, and sat upon the front part of my feet then he struck my chest with his hand and put some spittle in my mouth and said: ‘Get out, O enemy of Allah!’ He did that three times, then he said: ‘Get on with your work.’” ‘Uthman said: “Indeed, I never felt confused (during my prayer) after that.”

➊ Satan tries to prevent the believer from performing prayer (salah).
➋ Satanic whispers (waswasah) can reach a disturbing extent. In such a situation, supplicating to Allah and reciting the Mu'awwidhatayn, etc., is beneficial.
➌ In the view of the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum ajma'in), the importance of prayer (salah) was greater than rank and other official duties.
➍ By the blessing of the saliva of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), Satan was driven away.
➎ For resolving the difficulties of students and devoted followers, help can also be sought through supplication (du'a) and spiritual healing (ruqyah), especially when the difficulty is of a spiritual nature.
➏ Because of the status and rank of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), Satan would leave at his command and would not dare to trouble that person again.
➐ Satan enters into a human being and, by the blessing of the prescribed remembrances (adhkar) and supplications (ad'iyah), he departs.
