´It was narrated from Ibn Mas’ud that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “I used to forbid you from making Nabidh in certain vessels, but a vessel does not make something unlawful. All intoxicants are unlawful.”

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
The ruling depends on the underlying cause (‘illah).
In this matter, the cause (‘illah) is intoxication.
Therefore, whatever is intoxicating is forbidden (haram), and whatever does not intoxicate is permissible (halal), (provided that)
there is no other reason for it to be forbidden.
Changing the name of the drink or altering its method of preparation does not change the ruling.
