Hadith 3376

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ , عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ , عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Darda’ that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “No one who is addicted to wine will enter Paradise.”

Benefits and Issues:

➊ Consuming alcohol is a major sin (kabirah).

➋ Its punishment in the Hereafter is deprivation from Paradise, while in this world, it leads to various deadly diseases.

➌ Some scholars state that the habitual drinker does not have a good end, and there is a danger that, due to this sin, faith (iman) may be taken away from him, as a result of which he may become an eternal inhabitant of Hell.
