´It was narrated that ‘Atiyyah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani said:` “I heard Salman, when he was forced to eat food, say: ‘It is sufficient for me that I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: The people who most eat their fill in this world will be the most hungry on the Day of Resurrection.’”
Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
➊ One who eats little can endure hunger; on the Day of Resurrection, it will also be easier for him to bear hunger.
➋ Those who are fond of eating excessively do not make an effort to distinguish between what is lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram); therefore, even if they avoid the clearly unlawful, they still end up consuming what is doubtful. Because of this, they will be deemed deserving of punishment on the Day of Resurrection.
➌ Belching is a sign of having eaten to one's fill, which is not commendable.
