Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
➊ The poverty of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was by choice; that is, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) considered it necessary to fulfill the needs of others and was content with the bare minimum for himself.

➋ Sometimes wheat bread was also used in the house of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), but most of the time, sustenance was maintained with dates and water or milk.

➌ At that time in Arabia, wheat was expensive; most people used barley.
