´It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Harith bin Jaz’ Az-Zubaidi said:` “We ate food with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in the mosque, meat that had been roasted. Then we wiped our hands on the pebbles and got up to perform prayer without performing ablution.”

It is permissible to eat roasted meat.

Abstinence (zuhd) does not mean refraining from the use of Allah’s blessings; rather, zuhd is to avoid what is unlawful (haram) and to protect oneself from the greed of the world.

Ablution (wudu) is not nullified by eating something cooked over fire. See: (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 488, 493)

➊ It is permissible to eat and drink in the mosque, but one should not make it a habit.
➋ When eating food in the mosque, care should be taken to maintain the cleanliness of the mosque. Food items should not be allowed to fall on the floor, mats, or carpets, etc.
