بَابُ : إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدَكُمْ خَادِمُهُ بِطَعَامِهِ فَلْيُنَاوِلْهُ مِنْهُChapter: When one’s servant brings his food or drink, let him give him some of it
Hadith 3291

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْهَجَرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ خَادِمُ أَحَدِكُمْ بِطَعَامِهِ , فَلْيُقْعِدْهُ مَعَهُ ، وَلِيُنَاوِلْهُ مِنْهُ ، فَإِنَّهُ هُوَ الَّذِي وَلِيَ حَرَّهُ وَدُخَانَهُ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When the servant of anyone of you brings his food, let him make him sit down with him or give him some of it, for he is the one who put up with its heat and smoke.”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ One should treat servants and workers with great kindness.
➋ If a special dish has been prepared, the servant and employee should also be given some of it according to what is possible, so that no longing remains in their heart. By doing so, the servant’s love, respect, and reverence for the master will increase, and this will also prevent any desire in their heart to steal the master’s wealth or belongings.
➌ The owner of a factory should give some portion of the production to the employees as a gift.
➍ In addition to salaries, something extra should also be given to employees as an act of kindness.
➎ When taking work from employees, one should be considerate of their feelings and circumstances, and the employer should also participate in their happiness and sorrow.
