Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
➊ All those actions which are considered good according to custom (‘urf) or are not naturally disliked, should be performed with the right hand. For other actions, the left hand should be used.
➋ In the hadiths, there is mention of giving importance to the right side in many actions, such as: eating, drinking, taking, giving, ablution (wudu), ritual bath (ghusl), combing the hair, wearing clothes, putting on shoes, cutting or shaving the hair of the head, writing, entering the mosque, coming out of the toilet, etc. And in many other actions, the left side is mentioned, such as: performing istinja (cleaning oneself after relieving oneself), entering the toilet, leaving the mosque, removing clothes or shoes, etc.
➌ A believer should avoid those actions which are liked by Shaytan.
