Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
English Translation:
The meaning of giving testimony here is that he said:
I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade facing the qiblah at the time of urination or defecation. The purpose of this manner of expression is merely emphasis, and it also indicates that he heard this hadith directly from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) himself, not through the intermediary of another companion (radi Allahu anhu). That is why he relates it with such certainty, just as testimony can only be given regarding something witnessed with one's own eyes and with certainty.
