Hadith 3169

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا فَرَعَةَ وَلَا عَتِيرَةَ " ، قَالَ ابْن مَاجَةَ : هَذَا مِنْ فَرَائِدِ الْعَدَنِيِّ .
´It was narrated from Muhammad bin Abu (‘Umar) ‘Adani that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “There is no Far’ah and no ‘Atirah.”

Maulana Ataullah Sajid
The statement of Imam Ibn Majah rahimahullah means that this narration is reported from Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma only with this chain of transmission.
Other scholars narrate it from Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu with their respective chains.
Muhammad ibn Abu Umar Adani rahimahullah is the teacher of Imam Ibn Majah.
