It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sacrificed one cow during the Farewell Pilgrimage on behalf of the family of Muhammad (ﷺ).

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed a cow for his wives at the Farewell Pilgrimage.

1750. Commentary: ➊ In this hadith, "Aal Muhammad" refers to the purified wives of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). ➋ If a husband offers the sacrifice (udhiyah/qurbani) on behalf of his wife and children, it is permissible. ➌ No matter how many they are, one sacrifice is sufficient on behalf of all of them, as long as the children are living with the father.
