حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْأُبُلِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الزَّيَّاتِ ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : " حَجَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ مُشَاةً مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ ، وَقَالَ : ارْبُطُوا أَوْسَاطَكُمْ بِأُزُرِكُمْ ، وَمَشَى خِلْطَ الْهَرْوَلَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions performed Hajj walking from Al-Madinah to Makkah. He said: ‘Tie your lower garments around your waists,’ and he alternated between walking and jogging.”
Brief Explanation
1؎: It is not established in any hadith that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) walked briskly (ran) anywhere during Hajj except in two places: first, in the initial three circuits (shawt) of the Tawaf al-Qudum (the arrival circumambulation); second, between the two markers (green lights) on Safa and Marwah.

Commentary:
The aforementioned narration is weak, whereas in the previous chapters, it is explicitly stated in authentic ahadith that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was mounted on his she-camel during the journey of Hajj.
And the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) also traveled on their mounts.
