Hadith 306

´Shu'bah narrated from 'Asim from Abu Wa'il from Mughirah bin Shu'bah that:` The Messenger of Allah came to the garbage dump of some people and urinated while standing up. (Hasan) Shu'bah said: "That day, 'Asim said: 'Amash reported this from Abu Wa'il, from Hudhaifah, but he did not remember it (correctly). So I asked Mansur about it, and he narrated it to me from Abu Wa'il, from Hudhaifah, that the Prophet came to a dump of some people and urinated while standing.'"

Commentary:
The difference in the chain of narration has been clarified by Imam Ibn Majah rahimahullah himself, which makes it clear that this difference does not affect the authenticity of the hadith.
Since both Hudhayfah radi Allahu anhu and Mughirah radi Allahu anhu are Companions, whichever of the two narrated from the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the hadith will be authentic, not weak.
Therefore, in terms of its chain, the hadith is authentic.
