´It was narrated from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever begins the Talbiyah for ‘Umrah from Baitul-Maqdis, that will be an expiation for all his previous sins.” She said: “So I went out.” Meaning, from Baitul-Maqdis for ‘Umrah.

1741. Commentary: The narration of Umm Salamah (radi Allahu anha) has much difference in its chain of transmission and text. (Munziri and others) Although it is established from several Companions and Followers (Tabi'in) that they assumed ihram before reaching the miqat, yet from the explicit statement of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) that "He designated these specific stations (manazil)," it is established that assuming ihram from these locations is the Sunnah of the Prophet and the most virtuous act.
