قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْقَطَّانُ : وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِي حَدِيثِهِ مِنَ الرِّجْسِ النَّجِسِ إِنَّمَا ، قَالَ : " مِنَ الْخَبِيثِ الْمُخْبِثِ ، الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ " .
In this chain of narration, the words «من الرجس النجس» are not mentioned in the hadith of Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him); rather, «من الخبيث المخبث الشيطان الرجيم» is present.
