Benefits and Issues:
(1)
The Arabs in the pre-Islamic era considered performing ‘umrah in the month of Dhu al-Qa‘dah to be a sin. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) performed ‘umrah repeatedly in Dhu al-Qa‘dah so that the lingering effects of the Age of Ignorance would be thoroughly removed from people’s minds.

(2)
The ‘umrah that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) performed along with his final Hajj was performed on Sunday, the 4th of Dhu al-Hijjah, 10 AH. (Al-Raheeq al-Makhtum, Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri rahimahullah, p. 615) It was counted as being in Dhu al-Qa‘dah because the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) departed from Madinah during the month of Dhu al-Qa‘dah, when four days of the month remained. (Al-Raheeq al-Makhtum, p. 614)
