Brief Explanation
1؎: That is, I am performing Hajj purely for Your pleasure and reward, not for show or boasting and pride. From this hadith, it is understood that excessive adornment and using luxurious mounts or fine clothing during Hajj is contrary to the Sunnah. In Hajj, the servant goes before his Master, so the more humility he displays, and the more worn and humble his condition, the better it is, so that the mercy of the Master may be stirred. And this is precisely why, in Hajj, wearing stitched clothing and applying perfume has been prohibited.
