Brief Explanation
1؎ Ubni: It is a place between Asqalan and Ramla in Palestine. In Sahih Bukhari, there is a hadith of Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu in which the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam sent us in an expedition and said: "If you find such-and-such two persons, then burn them with fire." Then, when we were about to depart, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "I had commanded you to burn so-and-so with fire, but punishment by fire is for Allah alone. If you find them, then kill them." However, burning trees, idols, and equipment is permissible, and the permission for this is established from several ahadith when there is benefit (maslahah) in it.
