حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْمُرَقَّعِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ : يُخْطِئُ الثَّوْرِيُّ فِيهِ .
This chain also narrates from Rabah bin Rabee’ in the same manner. Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah says: Sufyan Thawri used to make a mistake in this.

Brief Explanation
1؎: That is, Sufyan narrated from Abu al-Zinad, and he from Marqaq ibn Abdullah, and Marqaq from Hanzalah; whereas in its other chain of transmission, it is narrated from Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, and Marqaq narrated from his grandfather Rabah ibn al-Rabi'.
