´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The martyr does not feel anything more when he is killed than one of you feels if he is pinched (by a bug).”

1؎: That is, it is a very light and subtle pain which is not even felt, and even this slight pain ceases immediately upon death. After that, various kinds of bliss and comfort are granted, to the extent that one even develops a desire to die again. O Allah! By Your grace and mercy, make death easy for us so that it may not even be felt like the bite of an ant.

Benefit: The aforementioned narration has been declared weak in its chain of transmission by our esteemed researcher, whereas other scholars have graded it as hasan (good). Furthermore, the researchers of (al-Mawsu‘ah al-Hadithiyyah) have declared its chain to be strong. For further details, see: (al-Mawsu‘ah al-Hadithiyyah, Musnad al-Imam Ahmad: 3/334/235) and al-Sahihah of al-Albani, no. 960. In any case, this too is a favor from Allah upon the martyr, that the process of the soul leaving the body is made easy for him, and this pain does not become unbearable for him.
